What was your favorite childhood toy?
I want to start learning more about my Camera-Critters friends. So, each week, I'll ask you a question. If you want to answer, leave it in the comments. If you don't feel like answering, that's O.K. too. :-) We've got a great group of people here. So, I thought it would be fun if we got to know each other more.
Welcome to the Camera-Critters meme. We hope that everyone enjoys this meme which is all about photos of animals/critters. So make your post, link back to here, visit other Camera-Critters captures, and have fun! HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF THE CAMERA-CRITTERS PARTICIPANTS FOR MAKING CC SUCH A SUCCESSFUL MEME.
We try not to complicate CC with many rules, but we do ask that you please use a CC badge or link back to Camera-Critters in some way. Thank you.
Let's see...
ReplyDeleteI spent hours playing with my Light Bright.
Later, I loved My Little Ponies, which are making a comeback now.
But, I spent most of my time with a good ol' fashioned sports ball :-) Gimme a basketball or volleyball anytime.
I would have to say my Barbie doll was my favorite toy. I had only one, and I dressed her and imagined stories for her for hours. I had the Barbie townhouse for awhile, and I remember thinking the pull-string elevator was so amazing. When I was old enough, my mom taught me to use our sewing machine and I made clothes for her.

ReplyDeleteFavorite toy - a book would have to be my answer. I could sit and read all day. My mother would have to push me outside and I would sit outside and read!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite childhood toy is now considered very politically incorrect, but I loved my little knitted golliwog, which was my faithful companion for many years.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Camera Critters Saturday!
Thank you for hosting this meme -- I just discovered it recently and today is my first entry.
ReplyDeleteCan't narrow down a favorite toy to just one -- but like the one commenter above, I always always loved to read. Can't remember a time when I wasn't in the middle of a book.
I remember a few favorite dolls and we played a lot of board games (my childhood was a long time ago -- no TV, no electronics ;>)
I had a teddy bear I loved. When I was in the third grade my teacher let me stay in at recess and she showed me how to knit. I spent years knitting doll clothes for my Ginny dolls.
ReplyDeleteThis dates me: my bun-bun, a straw-stuffed rabbit!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting Camera Critters. I have so many kind of critters I would like to share.
ReplyDeleteChildhood? Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a far away land...I cannot recall what I played with. Maybe it was the guava tree...
Cars. I loved my hotwheels! lol
ReplyDeleteA hand-me-down chemistry set was fun at one stage of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI guess my favorite toy was my doll that looked like a real baby. I still have it.
ReplyDeleteAnd too, my Barbies!
I loved Etch-A-Sketch!!
ReplyDeleteand playing jacks :)
my apologies for entering the wrong link for #24. My link is correct in #43.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite toy...my Barbies. :D
I had a few favorite toys as a kid.
ReplyDeleteA Mrs. Beasley doll, a Mr. Merlin hand held game, a Rubix Cube and an Easy Bake Oven! And I am sure there are many more I am forgetting.
My most favorite of all was a stuffed teddy bear that had a music box inside her tummy that I could wind up and listen to. She helped me sleep at night and to not feel alone.
I had lots of Barbie dolls and my mother made clothes for them. I do remember playing outside a lot so toys were not alway involved in playtime. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteprobably pretending my scooter was a racecar, skates could fly etc.
ReplyDeleteI really didn't have a favorite toy when I was little. At age 6 I had horses so I was busy showing, riding, feeding and cleaning up after them. I guess you would say they were my toys!
ReplyDeleteMy CC is up, stop on over!

We didn't have many toys, but I did have Jacks. I could sit for hours bouncing that silly ball and picking up the Jacks.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember a favorite toy, I played with dolls I think.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite toy? I remember I had a gray floppy toy dog with a bell in one ear named "Pierre." I got it for my birthday when I was about 5. I kept it through primary school. I'm trying to remember when I no longer had it - I guess it was left behind when we moved when I was in fourth grade.
ReplyDeleteI also had a stable of plastic horses, each with a name and personality.
And then, the chemistry set!
Lego! I had no time for dolls. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteI have problem with your Linky tools.

I just discovered your meme and I'm so glad I did. I'm linking up today for the first time with my photo blog. I guess a bit late! ~ My favorite type of photography is nautre/wildlife/landscape so I'm glad to find a meme that incorporates that! Thanks for hosting! ~ My toy? Dolls of all kinds.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have too many toys, but I sure did have books! Lots and lots of books. I spent my childhood on the couch, reading.
ReplyDeleteFavorite toy was my baby doll I had in elementary school. Carried her everywhere, when baby dolls were simple. Mine burned when our house did. Searched high and low when my daughter was young to find one as close to it as possible. Have photos of her in the same baby dresses I had saved until she had her first baby doll to dress herself.
